Last show.

October 25, Ardmore.

Last show, last pictures, and the usual nostalgia for what's ending.
This was a good season for the Kelly Miller Circus, good weather, so little mud it could hardly be called a mud show, a quiet season, and we missed half of it but the boys are five and six and the circus is all they've known, and if this was our last season as a circus family I don't want to think about it, not now.
Last shows, goodbye and see you next year, I will cherish this circus family forever and ever, like a children's tale.

Val - I am so in awe at the fantastic job you are doing as mom to your boys - while still experiencing life in ways that lift you up as well.

The circus is NOT all that your boys have known. They have known beautiful, quiet walks in the mountains and forests of France, a wonderful teacher there as well and the joy of living with grandma. They have known the excitement of the big city, Paris and were taken there by an expert, not just as a tourist.

They have known that you can make friends and keep them over miles and years. And you have taught them the joy of visiting those friends as the circus takes you near to them.

You have lived with the circus and have raised your boys there so far, but you have given them so much more than just the circus life. (while "just" the circus life would have been more than most kids experience anyway!!!) You have expanded their horizons in ways you may never know and ways that will reveal themselves over the years.

And, regardless of where you go next or what you decide to do, that sense of wonder you take with you will always be with them as well.

Thanks, Valerie, for taking us along with KM during the last few summers and giving us a glimpse life in Europe, as well. Please do a bit of blogging now and then to let us know how your life is progressing as time passes.
