I have been following your blog for close to two years now. You have changed a bit since your first blog back in 3/2006, less commentary, more pictures. I remember Circus Chimera coming through here but had not attended a circus ever until this year when KM played McAllen, Texas.
It has been interesting following your blog, Steve and Ryan's, Casey & Radar's and also A Mudshow Season (which had been offline for a while but now appears to be back in full force). All of your blogs provide an insight into circus life from different perspectives.
Is there a reason why you cut back on the commentary? I enjoyed reading the behind the scenes action. One of your first blogs mentioned about the incident with the Russian and he being asked to leave. Also Igor and Olga, Marvin, Ekatarina...do you keep up with them? The PR police still looking over your shoulder?
Write a bit more. :) I know enjoy reading your commentaries.
Thanks, I'll try. It is true that since last year I went back into photography mode full force, and for me it has been like coming home, as I was a photojournalist in my pre-circus life (once a journalist, always a journalist I'm afraid.) I've re-discovered my love of writing through the blog, though, and still enjoy writing tremendously, but you just can't beat Chimera for drama; this circus is very quiet in contrast, hence less fodder for circus happenings commentaries. Still, you're right, one can write about anything, just as one can create a visual story out of mundane, daily things, and I need to write more. Guennadi (the "Russian" from Chimera,) is involved in the circus near Houston; Ekaterina is still performing at the Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas, our shining star, and Olga I believe is in a circus in Mexico, but as for Marvin and the rest of them we have no news. But the circus is a tiny world and I'm sure we'll cross paths one day or another. Thanks for your continuous reading.
