This and that.

April 29, Palestine.

Down the street from the circus lot and past the cemetery an old guy was retiring and selling all his tools.
He had done yard work, mechanical work, this and that, "if there was a buck in it I'd do it." Fridman and Castro had eyes like saucers and went away with bargains. We also found a beautiful old bicycle and a tricycle with a horn for Dylan in what the man called "an ongoing garage sale" further on in town, and almost missed the cook house lunch for it.

Valerie,
It is fun if you have the time as across America if you look there are deals galore.
I just came back this morning from an estate sale.
Many old tools from the 1930's and 40's as these will last forever. Not like the new Chinese tools that are cheap and break real easy.
When you are at these sales you ought to look for metal trucks for your two sons. As these are now a fortune on ebay.
I try to find them to make into circus trucks when they are not $50 or more.
If you find any these will last your two until they are grown and then be worth a small fortune.
Have fun down the back roads of America as the hunt is sure fun.

Yes, the hunt itself is half the fun!
And what do you know but the programs have finally arrived!

Just don't get carried away with road bargans or you will need a portable garage.
By the way, how does Steve carry all the books he finds? Sound like he has created a portable library.

Don't know, but you should ask him.
And you'd be amazed how many books you can cram into an old trailer before it collapses (ongoing bet...)

Valerie,
Thanks on the info on the programs and you did a great job on it and got mine from the office.
I agree with you on the hunt is the best part and when you find a treasure it is exciting.
While in Florida on a circus trip we ventured into and antique store and while looking way up on a top shelf was a box. I had to get on a 6 foot ladder on the top rung but in that box was a 4 by 5 linhoff German camera with many lenses and goodies. May be about $2000 worth of camera stuff and got it for nothing.
I was in heaven for weeks.
That was a great hunt.
