It was so beautiful yesterday in Columbia with the roads covered in a fine mist of white cold and the sun shining it all to sparkles.

In an instant.

February 11, Columbia.

Reflecting on the path I chose for my children today after an encounter with a home-schooling family here in Columbia: the path I chose for my children away from the circus and what it has meant for my family, what it has meant for my children and for me, what is important and what is not, in one’s life, the decisions you make, the roads you take, how it can change forever in an instant.

The way we were.

February 8, Columbia.

The Kelly Milelr Circus' 205 season opened this week and I miss my circus self.

Growing pains.

February 8, Columbia.

The Mudshow Diaries has been going through growing pains but here it is again, changed and still strong.

I have been reviewing my archives to finalize the edit done at the Fotovisura workshops last summer, and finding gems along the way. I have been busy raising my kids, keeping my home, interpreting for the public schools, teaching French, and jump-starting my photography business, and through it all what has kept me going, as it always does, is the beauty of the moment, life itself in every moment, however difficult, as it has been this past year, and breathing that beauty through the lens.

Last round.

Dylan and Nicolas alternated working with their father last week. This is Nicolas’ last show.

No view, but sadness.

August 11, Columbia, Missouri (515 miles, home.)

We drove back today with no problems along the way. Lots of work upon arriving at the house made for a long day.
The kids are happy, here or there. I’m back in loneliness and deciding whether to stay.
Robin Williams ended his life yesterday and left me wondering in sadness.

August 11, Milan.

My brother Patrick died twenty-one years ago on the wings of a shooting star.
He was twenty-nine years young, and loved.
Not a day passes without his presence.

Cancelled.

August 11, Milan.

The Taylor date was cancelled at the last moment so we moved on to Milan and had the day off yesterday.
Mostly we slept. In the circus you grab all the sleep you can get.
